UAE ownership guide
13,000 km or 12 months
Range Rover UAE currently sets scheduled servicing at every 13,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. That is the starting point for a Range Rover maintenance schedule in the UAE. The work due at that visit then depends on the model, generation, engine, dashboard information and recorded history.
The date tells you when to arrange the visit. It does not mean every vehicle needs the same filters, spark plugs, fluids or timing work. A Range Rover Sport diesel, an Evoque petrol model, a Velar mild hybrid and a full-size Range Rover PHEV can reach the same service date with different parts due.
Your working calendar
Use the four rows below as the maintenance plan. Only the first row follows a fixed UAE time-and-distance baseline. The other rows depend on the vehicle record, measurements or a reported fault.
| Trigger | Plan for | Decision needed |
|---|---|---|
| 13,000 km or 12 months | Scheduled visit, correct engine oil and filter, dashboard review and an agreed vehicle inspection. | Use whichever limit arrives first. Check the vehicle indicator as well, especially on models with Flexible Service. |
| Engine-specific item becomes due | Applicable air, cabin and fuel filters, petrol-engine spark plugs, brake fluid, coolant, driveline fluids or timing work. | Confirm the engine, model year and last recorded replacement before adding the item. |
| Wear is measured | Brake pads and discs, tyres, wipers and the 12-volt battery. | Replace from measurements, test results or condition rather than the annual date alone. |
| Warning or symptom appears | Diagnostic testing for the affected system. | Treat the warning, leak, vibration, charging concern or suspension symptom separately from routine servicing. |
This distinction prevents two common mistakes: replacing wear items simply because the vehicle is being serviced, and clearing a warning without testing the system that produced it.
Identify your exact version
Start with the model and generation, then confirm the engine or powertrain from the VIN. Add the UAE interval, check what has already been recorded and divide the final list into due maintenance, measured wear and separate faults.

Land Rover says vehicles built from July 2013 onwards can use Online Service History to show completed work and upcoming maintenance needs. Itemised invoices are still valuable because they record the oil specification, parts and fluids actually used.
Full-size Range Rover schedule
L322, L405 and L460 vehicles can arrive with very different maintenance needs. Use the generation to narrow the plan, then use the engine and history to select the actual parts.
| Generation | Start with | Check before approving extras |
|---|---|---|
| L322 | Annual or distance-based service, correct oil and filter, leak inspection and a review of any paper history. | Petrol or diesel engine family, ignition or fuel-filter items, timing drive type and evidence of previous fluid work. |
| L405 | Scheduled engine service plus brake, tyre, battery, suspension and visible coolant-system checks. | V6 or V8 petrol/diesel requirements, later Ingenium applications, or the combustion and electrical needs of a P400e. |
| L460 | UAE scheduled visit and the service indicator, with parts selected for the fitted petrol, diesel, MHEV or PHEV powertrain. | 48-volt or high-voltage warnings, charging concerns and thermal-management history alongside normal engine maintenance. |
On an older full-size Range Rover with missing records, establish a baseline without treating every unknown item as automatically failed. List what is definitely due, what can be inspected and what still needs documentary proof.
Range Rover Sport maintenance schedule
The Sport changed substantially across L320, L494 and L461. A useful quotation should identify the generation and engine rather than describe the job only as a “Range Rover Sport service.”
| Generation | Maintenance focus | What changes the list |
|---|---|---|
| L320 | Scheduled oil service, filters applicable to the engine, and condition checks for brakes, tyres, steering and air suspension. | Petrol, TDV6 or TDV8 application; spark-plug or fuel-filter needs; timing drive type; previous driveline-fluid work. |
| L494 | Engine-specific service with measured brake and tyre wear kept separate from scheduled replacements. | Petrol V6/V8, diesel, Ingenium or P400e configuration, plus the recorded dates for plugs, filters, fluids and timing work where applicable. |
| L461 | Scheduled combustion-engine maintenance plus the checks required for the fitted MHEV or PHEV equipment. | 48-volt or high-voltage system, charging history, coolant circuits and any stored energy-management messages. |
Larger brakes, air suspension and performance tyres deserve inspection, but none is an automatic annual replacement. Ask for measurements and findings before they are added to the service estimate.
Range Rover Evoque maintenance schedule
The Evoque schedule changes at the L538-to-L551 generation split and again with the fitted engine. This matters because the first generation spans different petrol and diesel engine families, while the second includes Ingenium, mild-hybrid and plug-in-hybrid versions.
| Generation | Maintenance focus | Confirm from the vehicle |
|---|---|---|
| L538 | Correct oil service, applicable filters and a record check for plugs, timing components and driveline fluids. | Early or later engine application, petrol or diesel, two- or four-wheel drive and the previous replacement dates. |
| L551 | Scheduled engine service with electrical and cooling checks added for MHEV or PHEV versions. | Ingenium petrol or diesel, mild hybrid or plug-in hybrid, plus charging or emissions warnings that require separate testing. |
A petrol Evoque can need spark plugs at its specified interval. An applicable diesel can add fuel-filter and emissions-system requirements. Neither item should be copied across engines without checking the exact application.
Range Rover Velar maintenance schedule
The L560 Velar has used 2.0-litre Ingenium, six-cylinder and electrified powertrains, depending on year and market. The annual visit may fall at the same time, but the oil, filters, plugs and additional system checks do not form one universal parts list.
| Version | Plan for | Keep separate |
|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Correct oil and filter, applicable air filter and recorded spark-plug requirement. | Warning messages, misfires or oil leaks that need testing rather than routine parts. |
| Diesel | Correct oil and filters, including the fuel filter when specified for the application. | DPF, SCR or AdBlue faults, which need evidence from the warning and diagnostic data. |
| MHEV or PHEV | Combustion-engine service plus the applicable electrical, charging and thermal-system checks. | Software updates or charging faults. An update does not replace physical maintenance. |
Engine-specific service items
The engine decides many of the items that sit behind the annual date. Use this comparison to question a quotation before approving it.
| Powertrain | Possible scheduled items | Evidence to request |
|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Correct oil and filter, engine-air filter and spark plugs when due. | Engine family, oil specification, plug specification and last replacement date. |
| Diesel | Correct oil and filters, including an applicable fuel filter. | Exact engine, emissions equipment and whether the concern is maintenance or a fault. |
| Mild hybrid | Combustion-engine service plus applicable 48-volt connections and cooling checks. | Powertrain configuration and any stored energy-management warning. |
| Plug-in hybrid | Combustion-engine service plus charging, high-voltage and thermal-system checks. | Vehicle-specific procedure, charging concerns and cooling-system history. |

A timing belt, timing chain and auxiliary drive belt are different components. The correct timing requirement comes from the engine and model year, not the badge. Apply the same test to transmission, transfer-case and differential fluids: identify the unit, check the record and state why the fluid is due now.
Records that protect the plan
A dashboard reminder shows that attention is due. Resetting it does not prove which parts or fluids were replaced. Keep an itemised invoice showing the oil specification and quantity, filter descriptions, plugs or fluids fitted, inspection findings and the next review date.

If the history is incomplete, ask for three separate groups on the estimate: items due now, items that need inspection or measurement, and work whose previous date is still unknown. That gives the owner a usable plan without replacing parts simply because the paperwork is missing.
Major or minor service
Use the minor-service inclusion checklist to distinguish scheduled replacements, included inspections, and separately quoted repairs.
“Minor” and “major” are booking labels, not universal factory parts lists. A minor visit usually concentrates on the scheduled oil-service work and agreed checks. A major visit adds filters, plugs, fluids or other maintenance only when the vehicle information and records show they are due.
The Range Rover major service checklist helps owners compare a broader quotation. Brake replacement, tyres and diagnosis of a warning message should still be supported by measurements or testing and quoted separately.
Dubai driving conditions
High ambient temperature, slow traffic, short journeys, dust and long periods of idling can change what deserves closer inspection. Land Rover also states that Flexible Service considers driving style and conditions when calculating when service is due on applicable vehicles.
These conditions do not create one shorter interval for every Range Rover in Dubai. Follow the UAE baseline and the vehicle indicator, then use filter condition, battery testing, coolant condition and visible wear to decide whether attention is needed sooner.
Check your next service
Send the model, year, mileage, VIN if available, engine or fuel type, dashboard service message and recent invoices. The Range Rover servicing team can use those details to separate scheduled work from wear items and faults before the visit.
Maintenance schedule FAQs
How often should a Range Rover be serviced in the UAE?
Range Rover UAE currently states every 13,000 km or 12 months, whichever comes first. The vehicle indicator may also account for driving conditions on applicable models. The items due at the visit depend on the exact engine and recorded history.
Does a Range Rover PHEV still need an oil service?
Yes. A plug-in hybrid still has a combustion engine with oil, filters and other scheduled requirements. It also adds charging, high-voltage and thermal-management systems that need the correct inspection procedures.
When should a Range Rover timing belt be replaced?
The answer depends on the engine and model year. Some engines use a timing chain rather than a belt, and belt intervals cannot be transferred between different engines. Confirm the engine from the VIN and use the published requirement for that application.
Are brakes and tyres part of the annual schedule?
Their condition should be checked, but replacement depends on measurements, damage and wear. Brake and tyre work should be reported and quoted separately from scheduled maintenance.
What if the service history is missing?
Start with the VIN, dashboard information and any available invoices. Separate work that is clearly due from items that need inspection and items whose previous replacement date remains unknown.
