Repair approval and aftercare

Service Warranty & Repair Policy

A practical explanation of repair approval, parts identification, workmanship, warranty documents and what to do if you believe a recent repair needs review.

The minimum protection

UAE Consumer Protection Executive Regulations require repaired services and replaced parts to be warranted for at least 15 days from delivery, unless the nature of the service or part requires a longer period. The rule applies where the failure is not caused by the consumer’s use. A written workshop or supplier warranty may give additional protection.

Before work begins

Good repair work starts with clear documentation. We should identify the vehicle, record the reported symptoms and relevant condition, and explain the proposed inspection or repair. Before chargeable repair work begins, the expected scope, cost or pricing basis, anticipated repair period and applicable warranty should be communicated and approved.

Vehicle and concern

Model, year, VIN where useful, mileage, warning messages, symptoms and relevant prior work.

Approved scope

The diagnostic step or repair being authorised, with material limits or dependencies explained.

Commercial record

Expected price or basis, estimated timing, part description and warranty information.

Approval may be recorded through a signed job card, estimate, email, WhatsApp message or another reliable written workshop record. An initial telephone discussion is not permission for unlimited work.

Diagnosis and changes to the approved repair

A warning message or fault code can direct testing, but it does not automatically prove that the named component has failed. A vehicle may also have more than one fault. The workshop may need scans, physical inspection, electrical tests, pressure or leak tests, measurements, road testing or controlled dismantling to identify the cause.

If inspection reveals a material additional fault or a change to the expected repair, we should explain the evidence, likely effect, revised cost and timing, then seek separate approval before carrying out the additional work. If a customer declines it, the decision and any safety or completion consequence may be noted on the job record.

Parts identification and supply

Vehicle configuration and VIN can affect compatibility. Depending on the approved job, a workshop-supplied component may be manufacturer branded, original-equipment or equivalent quality, aftermarket, used or reconditioned. The proposed category and condition should be clear where relevant. The invoice should identify replaced parts and state whether supplied parts are new, used or reconditioned as required.

Workshop-supplied parts

We are responsible for selecting and fitting workshop-supplied parts with reasonable care and for applying the documented warranty. A manufacturer, distributor or remanufacturer may also provide a part warranty. Any supplier assessment process will be explained if it becomes relevant.

Customer-supplied parts

A customer-supplied part must be agreed before installation. We may decline a part if its identity, compatibility, provenance, completeness, condition or safety cannot be reasonably confirmed. The part’s inherent quality and supplier warranty remain matters between the customer and supplier to the extent permitted by law. This does not remove responsibility for workshop workmanship.

Used or reconditioned components

These components are installed only where proposed and approved. Their prior history and remaining life may differ from a new part, so the specific written warranty and inspection outcome matter. We will not describe a used or reconditioned part as new.

Workmanship and verification

Workshop work should be performed with reasonable skill and care within the approved scope. Verification after repair depends on the system involved and may include a visual check, leak check, scan, measurement, adaptation, calibration, stationary operating test or reasonable road test.

Verification confirms the evidence available at handover. It cannot promise that an unrelated aged component will not fail later, or that an intermittent symptom will never return. If a verification limitation remains, it should be explained rather than hidden.

The invoice or accompanying record should describe the completed work, supplied parts and applicable warranty. Keep that document. If a replaced component is needed for a supplier warranty or core exchange, it may not be available for return. Otherwise, ask before collection if you want an available replaced component retained for you.

What a repair warranty normally covers

Subject to the written job terms and mandatory UAE rights, a repair warranty normally concerns a defect in the workshop’s approved workmanship or a covered defect in a workshop-supplied part during the applicable period. The remedy may require inspection, testing, adjustment, repair, replacement or another appropriate solution based on the cause.

No blanket period beyond the legal minimum is stated on this page because parts and repairs differ. If a longer workshop or supplier period applies, it should be recorded on the estimate, job card, invoice or warranty document. A website marketing statement does not replace the warranty documented for the identified job.

What requires separate assessment

A warranty concern must be investigated fairly. The following circumstances are not automatically treated as a defect in the previous repair, but they should be assessed on evidence:

  • a failure in a different component or system outside the approved repair scope
  • normal wear or a consumable reaching the end of its service life
  • accident, impact, water entry, overheating after a warning, misuse or off-road damage
  • continued driving after a stop warning or after a serious symptom became apparent
  • incorrect fluids, contaminated fuel, external electrical interference or modification
  • work, dismantling, programming or alteration by another party after our repair
  • a customer-supplied part failing because of an inherent defect
  • failure to follow a material maintenance or return-inspection instruction that was clearly documented

An exclusion is applied only where it is relevant to the cause. It is not used to avoid responsibility for defective workmanship or a covered supplied part. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Manufacturer warranty and independent repair

We are an independent workshop and not an authorised Jaguar Land Rover dealership. If a vehicle or component may have an active manufacturer, recall, campaign or authorised-dealer warranty, tell us before work. The customer may wish to obtain the manufacturer’s written position. We do not decide whether an external manufacturer warranty applies and do not promise that independent work will be accepted under it.

How to return with a suspected warranty concern

  1. Contact us promptly. Call or message with the invoice or job reference, vehicle details and a clear description of the symptom.
  2. Protect the vehicle. If continued driving may cause damage or create a safety risk, stop and ask for guidance.
  3. Share useful evidence. Send warning messages, images, video, scan information or the circumstances in which the issue occurs.
  4. Allow inspection. We need a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle and determine whether the concern relates to the previous work.
  5. Review the finding. We will explain whether remedial work is appropriate, whether a supplier assessment is required, or whether the issue is separate.

If another workshop must intervene urgently, ask it to preserve evidence and provide a detailed report, images and parts where safe and lawful. Prior third-party work does not automatically remove rights, but it can make causation harder to establish.

Concerns and remedies

If you disagree with a warranty assessment, use our Complaints & Resolution process. We will review the job documents, diagnosis, supplied parts, relevant communications and vehicle condition. Appropriate outcomes may include explanation, further inspection, remedial work or another remedy required by the facts and applicable law.

This policy should be read with the Terms & Conditions. Neither document limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under UAE consumer-protection law.

Official legal basis

The repair documentation and minimum warranty points above reflect Article 26 of the UAE Consumer Protection Executive Regulations. The policy is operational guidance, not legal advice.
